Halloween Festivities Thus Far

Halloween Parties in School today. We are not very original. We recycle our costumes many times. Ada and Avery are going to be an Unicorn and a Dragon but for school , they are to wear costumes that they can easily get out of and that don't have masks, etc. So, we got out the reserve and Spiderman and a clown they were. They will trade costumes for tonight.

I surprised Avery at lunch and caught him being a goof while eating. He didn't know I was there watching with a camera pointed straight at him. What a goof!

After he realized I was there, he settled for a quick snapshot.

Ada and Mrs. LeBaron during lunch time. It was raining outside, so they stayed in to play.

I left Avery's Party to take a quick look into Ada's room during her party. Looks like they were having a great time decorating their cookies.

I was in charge of Avery's party this time. We made Spider bracelets made out of cups and pipe cleaners. Megan is totally right when saying that the BLACK pipe cleaners were non-existent in Utah. Everybody must have been doing their Halloween crafts. My fault for procrastinating.

Avery is crying behind one of the boys in front. I already had the kids ready for a picture and decided that I needed to take it, he had a "moment" because of someone did something to his spider bracelet. Oh, the tragedy! He quickly recovered and went on to the other stations. We rotated rooms with all the 2nd graders.

Let me tell you, cutting 80 cups, punching 8 holes in each, stapling elastic to each one with at least 6 staples, running to Dollar Tree at 9:00 at night to get black cups because the first idea of using egg carton cups just wasn't working only to find they were gone, so purple it was. I was up until 2:00 a.m. last night.

It is called procrastination. I have known about this for a long time, but with busy life and all that jazz, I put it off. NEVER again! I am so tired. I was up at 6:00 with Addison, 7:00 got the kids ready for school in their costumes, hopped in a quick shower and headed Visiting Teaching( I finally had a day off from work because of Halloween) at 9:00- 10:30 then off to the school for all the parties.

I know you all do it, but please give me a helpful hint as to how to do it all with energy!

Ada came home from school and wanted to make herself a spider, so I put her to work making the rest of them. I figure that we can give them away to the Trick or Treaters.

Looks like everyone had a great holiday! They need to make the day after Halloween a holiday for moms. We could catch up on sleep, not have to deal with all the clean up and have some much needed DOWN time.

Looks like the Spider bracelets were a hit! That is great that they let the kids wear costume's to school. Down this way they won't let them. In fact, this year we didn't have them in school on Halloween.

It was good seeing you yesterday!

I hope everyone in every school everywhere puts as much thought and energy into "Thanksgiving" as they do into Halloween time.
