We gathered to celebrate, eat and play at our house for my dad's 70th birthday. The weather started off not being the greatest, so I changed the menu to Costa Vida Burritos/salads instead of barbecuing. The sun came out for a while and the kids did finally get to run around outside and play together.

When we got home from the birthday party at Alison's last night there was a message on the answering machine from my brother Reed. He was calling to wish me a happy birthday. He said: "I know you're happy, I've been looking at the family blog and if you're not happy, you just know how to be happy." How true that is. Thankfully I was and am happy because of the good lives you live and the love that is show to me and my sweet Iris through your thoughtfulness each day.
