Christmas Happenings 2011

Started off with Waffles and Bacon for Breakfast.  Our kids were so good and waited until after church to even ask to open presents.
After church, we changed clothes and headed to open our stockings.  We all knew that this Christmas was going to be smaller since we went on a family cruise that we considered our main Christmas present to our kids.  They have been so good to not complain and were grateful for the trip.  It was kind of nice not having to shop much this year.
Addison putting a ribbon around his head. Goof!
I had towels embroidered with their names on them.  They have towels from when they were little with their names and cute little characters on them, but they are growing up so fast that I opted out of anything other that their names this year.  I plan on washing and keeping their other towels as keepsakes when they leave the house.
We saved the best for last.  The only thing that Ada really asked for was an Easy Bake oven.  I let the kids choose ONE gift that was $40-$50 and the rest was just little things that I picked up.  Not much.  She was thrilled to get it and already cooked up a batch of cookies.
The main gift that Addison chose was a Kevin Durrant shirt and shorts.  He is a little bit into B-ball and loves to have all the Nike stuff and gear.  He also got some Nike socks and Nike beanie.

I had them open their final gift for each of them at the same time.  They each got a Blog Book from the time I started blogging ( May 2008) until now.  I label each post, so I was able to print each book with the posts that they were in.  I was so happy to see that they all took to reading them right away.  It became silent as they looked through all that we have done over the past few years.  Avery spent the most time turning the pages and remembering.  It makes me feel good and that my blogging is beneficial.

Avery wasn't specific about what he wanted as his main gift.  he told me to just pick something fun.  How easy is that.  I got him a few games that we could all play together.  He loves games and he loves to use his mind.  We spent most of our afternoon playing games and having fun.

Ada just being cute!
Ammon and I agreed not to get anything for each other except for stocking stuff this year because of our trip.  I was fine with that.  It really didn't work, because on BLACK FRIDAY we bought a 42 "LCD for our bedroom and I kinda pointed out that he got a TV for Christmas even though it wasn't on Christmas or from me.  He had to even the playing field and buy me a new Giant Reign 1 Mountain Bike.  We have been looking for a upgrade for me for a while and he just couldn't refuse the deal he found.  He got it so much cheaper than it was worth.  It is only a year old.  The owner must have needed some quick cash before the holidays because Ammon felt like he almost stole it from him.  It was that good of a deal.  Ammon really secretly wants it for himself ( but he isn't getting it!)  I love it  and can't wait to get riding.
Addison was not thrilled with my new toy.  He is a very envious camper.  He loves it and wants to trade.  Also, NOT GOING to HAPPEN!
Ada enjoying her Easy Bake Cookies!
We went to Don and Jills for Christmas lunch.  Nate was there with Wyatt and Shay.  They had fun playing games together for a little while.

We all played our fair share of games today.  Ada loved her new pj's and robe. She lounged around in them most of the day.
Addison got kicked out of the TV room to watch his basketball games upstairs.  He snuggled up on our bed and spent many hours watching the NBA.  He is so glad that they are up and playing again.

We had a great day spending the day with each other.  Merry Christmas.
