Addison raced his final race of the 2012 season on Wednesday. He started off great, was within the first twelve on the first stretch. It worried me a bit because a few of his teammates were ahead of him for a little while. By the time he came around after the first stretch, he had lost them and was in the top four overall. He kept his pace and worked hard to stay up to the front. He was in the lead for Mountain Crest for most of the last half. He was doing so good. I was so excited to see him doing so well. He needed to come in first on the Mountain Crest JV team to make the alternate spot for the Varsity at State. He had this goal set and he wanted it bad. He pushed to the end and came in third overall in the JV race leading his Mountain Crest JV team which put him on Varsity for state. He hit another personal record of 17:25. He was two seconds faster than his last time on this course. Most of his friends are seniors and on the Varsity team, so this was a great day for him. He wanted to be able to participate as the alternate and be among his friends at State. He gets a different uniform and to ride a different bus to State than the rest of the team. I am glad he was able to do this and that it made him so happy as he succeeded in his goal. I can't wait for next years season to see just how much better he will be. We love our Addison. GOOD JOB BUD!!! We are proud of your hard work and accomplishments this season.

His friend Benson came to support the runners. He is the best friend in the world. We just love Benson. He leaves in December for his mission, so I wanted a picture of he and Addison since things are really going to change soon.
Grandma and Grandpa Eborn were able to see two of Addison's races this season and are appreciated very much. I know that Addison probably pushed himself even more knowing that they were there watching him. It is good to have support. His dad also was able to make it. I know that it means a lot to Addison to know that we care about him and support him. I wouldn't miss it. I love watching him. It does my heart good to see him enjoying such a good thing.
The top five medaled. He received the bronze medal for taking third place.

Makes me teary reading kids accomplishments like this when they succeed at something. I know I am so proud of my kids when they do something awesome. I was just thinking about how proud you and ammon must be. I cried when Corey scored a goal at her soccer game the other day cause it was such a tough team. It was embarrassing I was tearing up so bad. Good thing I had my sunglasses. Is addison running a 5k when they do those races?
We were very happy to be there, Addison did great. To come in third out those hundreds of runners is no small accomplishment and it still gives him incentive to do even better. That's what life is all about, doing your best and then with a little help from the MAN up above to do even better than we ever thought possible. We are very proud of Addison and his accomplshments.
Love you all and always,
Grandpa Bart
