With our oldest son Addison, we started his Missionary Fund at the age of eight. Avery has now reached that time and will be setting aside for his future mission. With every dollar earned, our boys divide it into half. Half of it goes to their Missionary Fund and the other half is used to pay the full amount of tithing and the rest to keep. Addison has done great with this. He has saved quite a bit. It hasn't been until recently that he wishes that he would be able to keep more than 40% of his earnings. He still abides and knows of the importance.
Grandpa Daugs is so good to let our kids do jobs around his place during the summer. I hope that Avery will be old enough now to really help him out. Grandpa started his fund off at his baptism. Thanks grandpa. We have an account already set up for him. We match all they put in so between them and ourselves, they should be set to go by the time they are 19. Thanks again grandpa for starting Avery's membership in the church on the right note.
