We kidnapped Grandma and Grandpa today and took a little hike on the Stokes Nature Trail up Logan Canyon. It was plenty warm, but we had our water and shade every once in a while. We hiked up to a picnic area and ate Subway sandwiches and let the kids run and play.

We were able to see the old wooden Pipe line that was used many years ago. Addison made that comment that his mom would like to take it home, along with the old rusted metal straps used to keep the pipe together. I have no idea what in the world would make him say that? :) Weird?!
The kids enjoyed the break and dipped their feet in the freezing river water.
We got home and Addison immediately rushed out to check his traps that he had set out in our river behind our house. He BEGGED me to go out on the canoe with him to check them with him. Along our way, I realized that we have our own Nature Trail right behind our house.
Our home rests next to a beautiful river filled with wildlife as well as farm life. We saw muskrats, ducks, fish, crayfish, horses, cows and many birds overhead. We are truly blessed. Even the moss and sticks floating in the river along side our canoe was beautiful to me.
We checked his traps and he did have 3 crayfish and a few minnows. He was so excited!
Notice the canoe dock. Constructed by none other than Addy himself.
He is definetly his fathers son.
Thanks for the ride Addy!

It truly is a good life, and the better we live our lives the better it gets. Just imagine how grand it will be a hundred million years from now. Of course we can expect a few bumps in the road between here and there, but even they are for our good and can make us better people.
Thanks for "kidnapping us". Any time you'd like, I'm sure you wont find us resisting.
