Tragedy on 10-22-09

October 22nd proved to be both TRAGIC and MIRACULOUS. Close to Home. Fellow ward members Dennis and Leona Sorensen serving in Scotland on an LDS mission lost their home due to a Propane Leak Explosion. Son and Daughter were living there at the time of the explosion. A MIRACLE happened. Heavenly Father without a doubt had a hand in all the happenings of this event. Mary( daughter) stood in the kitchen as the explosion occurred. She was knocked/ thrown and received a head injury. She stood to her feet and helped the neighboring rescuers know of her brother who was buried in the debris. Help came from all sides, including family members. Tony was found and rescued before a following explosion occurred and the remains were set on fire. Among first on the scene was their neighbor, a Deputy who any other day would have not been home at this time. He was that day. There were many men and women in the right place at the right time. We are all thankful for Mary and Tony's continued presence here on earth and our PRAYERS will forever be with them. Our Ward is strong and will rally around the family. EVERYTHING was lost. Well, almost everything. They have their lives, which after seeing the devastation is mind-boggling. How can a two level brick home be blown to rubble and a human life is left standing.
GOD HAS HIS HANDS IN ALL THINGS!!!
Let us remember to keep the faith, love one another and cherish what we are blessed with. From one moment to the next, it could be gone. PRAY for the Sorensen Family Please.

We chekced this out on KSL.com. It is indeed tragic, but yet at the same time miraculous. I will never blame God for amything, but the longer I live the less I believe in coincicdence. His hand is always there to guide us and to protect us and teach us. We must always give thanks and then ask: What am I supposed to learn from this event. I will undoubtedly be something very significant that will help us and others to become better people. Our prayer sre with the Sorenson family and all who are affected by this event.

Lpve you all and always,

Grandpa Bart

I agree...what a MIRACLE! Wanna know something amazing?! Mary found all of her missionary stuff, out in the field...in a box, UNTOUCHED. As if someone had just set it there-which I am sure of. AMAZING!

Thanks for sharing the miracle surrounding this tragedy. I heard about the explosion on the news. Heavenly Father is very aware of us and this is more proof of that.

This is truly a miracle. I think we all need to stop and think of the small miracles that happen daily in our lives. Every breath we take is a miracle and blessing from our Heavenly Father. I was so touched to hear President Willie echo Elder L. Tom Perry's words. "They will be taken care of. They are among the good people of Cache Valley." Thank you to your neighbors and ward members for their love and support.
