A Prayer of SORROW and THANKS
As I sit here in the middle of the morning ( 3:30). I once again am having a hard time sleeping. Lately, I have been saddened by my own self "misfortunes" and "unfairness", but not this night. A reminder of how selfish I can be and how blessed I am for so much joy and goodness. I am thankful this night for my wonderful family. I am blessed with a Husband who loves me and takes care of us. My children are my Joy and my "smile". For them, I am a mother. How fortunate I am to be their mother. This night we received a phone call from a friend informing us of a very sad tragedy among us. Dear friends of ours, past ward members and former boss of Ammon has suffered the unimaginable. Their 16 year old son was involved in a fatal one-car accident last night . Each day is such a blessing and should not be taken for granted! I take this bitter reality as a learning opportunity to make the most of each day. Make my days happy, make them positive and really count with no regrets. For one day, it may be me faced with such a loss and I want to be able to hold my head high and be thankful for the days that I had. I want the transition from this life to the next to be eternal and strong. Two days ago we saw this wonderful family at Stake Conference all together and happy. Today, I believe there is much sadness. Yet, this family is a strong, spiritual pillar that I know will stand this test without wavering. Their Eternal Destination is set. Our prayers are with you this day and the many days to come. We love you. May Wayne be the "smile" looking downward upon you each day.

Yes, so so sad...what a great way to put it though. You are amazing Alison!
We are saddened by this news as well though we did n't know tis young man. These types of tragedies have happened to several of our close friends and some of my former students over the years.
I have witnessed the tears and the sorrow and I have seen the strength of charachter that helps people through such trials through their faith and the sacred covenats of the gospel. You are so right, we need to count our blessings every day and give help and commfort where we can. For us who believe, there is always reason to hope and to go forward with faith. Prayers of sorrow for those who grieve and prayers of thanks for our many blessings will sustain us through the tough times and bring joy to our souls. Never forget to pray together.
I'm so sorry this has happened to
this family. May the Lord be with
them. Such happenings really bring
the reality of life in focus. We
should always be greatful everyeday
for our blessings and remember to
tell our loved ones we love them
and appreciate them, it might be the last words we say to them. Thanks for sharing. We love
you and your family very much.
LIVE STRONG
Love Mom
That is very sad, your post is nicely stated. You here folks say, that the Lord saved his most valiant to come in these last days.
I think it is so true, and that some leave sooner than we are ready for them too.
