Birthday time! Nine years has flown by. Our energetic son Avery has been a joy each day we have had to share with him. He is so full of life. He and Ada helped me tackle the cupcake making. I said tackle, because it took longer than I anticipated. I actually made them twice. I made them on Wednesday to make sure that I knew how to make them look right and then after having success, I did it again Thursday night after pack night. We made white cake batter and divided it into six equal bowls. Then, we colored each bowl the colors of the rainbow. That was the easy part. I then spooned the colors into each cup one at a time, smoothing each layer flat with my finger. It took a couple hours, but I think it was well worth it. It was what Avery wanted and the kids in his class were amazed and loved them.

Birthday Cha! Cha! Cha!
( I volunteer in Avery's classroom on Friday morning before I start work, so I was able to watch them sing the Happy Birthday Cha! Cha! Cha! to him. )

We took him to dinner at Costa Vida. He downed an adult salad all by himself. We then went to a Ball game. Not an Aggie game, but close. Our Priests are playing in Regions and are now in the championship. They do awesome for a bunch of farm boys. Ammon is the Priests leader and we wanted to support the boys.
After the game, we came home and sang happy birthday to him and sliced up his bigger rainbow cake. He opened his presents after school. He got an art book, art pencils, a video game and money from grandma and grandpa. We love you Avery! Thank you for being our son!

I LOVE MY AVERY!!!!!

And we do love our Avery too. It just doesn't seem possible that he is already nine. Where does the time go? Another 10 years and he could be in Siberia.
Love you all and always,
Grandpa Bart
Happy Birthday Avery! That game was a pretty darn good game! :)
Rainbow cake and cupcakes...lucky boy...that would take forever! I loved that Happy Birthday song. It looks like he has a fun teacher. How did his tiny body fit a whole salad?! I can't even do that! :)
Happy Birthday to Avery...we LOVE YOU!
Looks like great way to spend the day.... he is getting so big.
Love the Avery Man!
