You know that spring is here when soccer starts. Avery is playing again this year. Each year he says he wants to play and then after I sign him up he has second thoughts. However, after this game I believe he is once again glad that he is involved. He is really progressing since his first year.
Of course, that is to be expected. I was so happy with how this game went. He started off as the goalie and stopped 4 goals. He did awesome. He then played as a forward and then mid-fielder in the second half. He hustled like I have never seen him hustle. He played so hard and the best part of watching him was seeing his big bright smile. He was having so much fun. He got some good kicks and the game ended up with us as the winners. Was I ever pleased with the whole game today. He worked hard, had fun and had the greatest attitude. Good Job Avery!
I seem to take on a few roles on the sidelines. I am
of course the supportive mother, but then the cheerleader in me comes out mixed with the competitive ball player in me. I guess it's good to be a bit of all of them. Go Avery Go!

Don't you just love the role of the "Soccer Mom"?! Glad Avery is doing well so far this season.
If you can keep him playing and then also keep a smile on his face you've learned more than I ever did. It's more about atitude than we might think. It is good for him and also for his family.
