Hiking up To Jardine Juniper

The Young Women in our ward had their camp this week. NO...... I am NOT in Young Womens, but I wanted to go on their hike with them. I love to get out and move, so I volunteered myself to tag along. Ammon and Addison had just biked this same trail Saturday morning. I was curious to see how the trail would be for me to possibly bike it next time. We hiked almost 11.5 miles. The uphill was my favorite. I didn't struggle or get winded at all. Some of the leaders felt it as we went up. I wondered if going to Zumba twice a week helped me. However, toward the end of the downhill, my left hip started to hurt. I must have been favoring it somehow as I alked downhill. I did discover that I would most likely not like to bike that trail. It is pretty steep and rocky. But, I would hike again in an instant!

Here are a few leaders and I at the top overlooking beautiful Logan Canyon.
Marlene Israelsen (YW Pres.), Paula Godfrey, Christy Daugs and Cami Jacobson.

Going under the bridge as I came upon the Jardine Juniper Tree.

Here is the infamous Juniper Tree. It is thought to be the oldest Tree in the United States at 1500 years old. It is mostly dead, but has definete life right at the top. It is amazing in its size even though they said that it was stunted in its growth due to wild fires during its time.

We were a bunch of purple girls blazing up the trail . The girls did sooo well with minimal complaints. It was fun and I am so glad that I went. Ready to go again!

No one can say you are lazy. You
love to be active and join in with
others. Your body will benefit from
your Zumba classes and you will be
healthy. Lucky you. I'm sure the
young women were glad to have you
along.

Love Mom
