Avery and Ada are fortunate to be involved in the Schools Youth 2000 Program. Youth 2000 is a special group of students selected by the teachers to represent the school and be examples/leaders for their peers (kinda like student council). I was pleased to get a letter this spring from each of their teachers asking that they submit their applications for this program. It is rare that siblings are in it together where there are many great kids in school. There are only 19 kids chosen in the whole school. I loved knowing that my two were considered at the same time. They had to write a letter about what they would do to help the school and their peers if they were accepted . They also had to answer some questions about all the Characteristics such as respect, responsibility, safety, caring, fairness, trustworthiness and citizenship. They receive their acceptance letters this summer and already started their duties with a meeting and preparing a float for the Mendon parade. They also took turns at the Mendon Celebration selling school t-shirts in a booth.
Once school begins, they meet every Monday after school to plan service and projects. They are also in charge of assemblies, recycling, box tops and leadership roles during the year. I sure am proud of my kids. Love them.

Addison and Ammon went on a bike ride before the parade and had just made it in time to watch the parade. They were hot, but it didn't take long to cool off as they were sprayed by the firetrucks in the parade. They didn't budge- they loved cooling off.

They will really change the world. More than you will ever realize, I think.
