Summer Runs with Addison

Addison has been getting up every morning around 5:20 to get ready and be to Mountain Crest by 6:00 each day. He is on the cross country team and has been diligent in his training. He runs anywhere from 5 to 9 miles each morning in different locations and difficulty. I have been wanting to run with him, so we decided to do some evening runs close by home. It is fun and I am surprised at how I feel as I run now. I don't get as tired or the side aches as I use to. Zumba must help. It sure does feel good to exercise.
In fact, I got a little ego boost the other night at Zumba. I need those from time to time. I am getting older and I sometimes feel like it is harder to find the time to focus on me. Anyway, I hesitate sharing this, but I felt so good that night at Zumba that maybe if I do something about it, more good will come out of it.
My Zumba instructor is also a photographer for ICON FITNESS. After one of the songs was over she and the other instructor came up to me and pointed out my arms and shoulders and asked me what I have been doing..... I jokingly told them "aaaa, Zumba?" I have been biking a little, but for the most part I think that Zumba ( with the toning sticks) has been the key. She told me that I should model for ICON.... I laughed and then told her that Ammon was the one that built the ICON Photo set and that I painted it. She was impressed. We decided to stop talking and let the class continue. After the class we talked some more. She told me again that she really thinks that I should model for ICON. I asked her how I would go about doing that. She wants me to send her some body shots of my arms, shoulders, abs, and legs. I told her I would think about it. I don't know if I would have time for it with work, going back to school and family -or- even if I want to do it. Anyway, whether I follow through with it or not- it gives a 37 year old heart a little boost of confidence that is missing from time to time.

It just feels good to be noticed and complimented.

Funny thing is that as Ammon was building the set for ICON, I would come and help and then I painted the backdrop for one of the walls, we would see the models and photographers. Addison mentioned then that I should do that, but I thought that surely I was too old and just not fit enough. Anyway, I did like the idea and now it is presenting itself. I guess I will ponder some more about it and try to figure out how to get some good body shots to submit.

We'll see??? It's a fun "thought!"

Ada joined us on this last run with her bike. It actually helps us keep a quicker

pace as we follow her.

Loving Summer Night Runs!
