With the recent rain, our river has once again flooded. It hasn't had a chance to drop much since the wet spring and snow runoff. The kids made use of the extra water and swam from one end to the ladder and back again. It has gotten deep in most spots, so I make them wear life jackets and I sit out there to watch them. They have so much fun in the river. Addison even went out this morning and was "Carping" with his friends in it. They take pitch forks and stab the carp. Fun times, I guess if you are a teenage boy. Oh, to be a kid again!

Looks like fun! My kids call me the safety freak -- glad to see they have their life jackets on!:)
We used to have to down to the OLD SWIMING Hole on Ovid Creek. There was even a diving board there. I must admit we didn't have the same supervison as your kids do. Nor did we do it as often. Fun memories nonetheless. Glad they have life jackets.
Love you all forvever,
Gtandpa Bart
How fun! It brings back so many memories of doing things like this as a kid, only we never wore life jackets. How did we ever survive? :)
Looks like fun! Carp---my brother use to do the same thing. We were more like Bart, we didn't have near the safety considerations, but it sure was a heap of fun.
I seem to have started a safety convo -- just to jump on the bandwagon -- I used to always swim in our creek and even through the "tunnels" under the bridges(seriously dangerous) - I'm pretty sure my Mom didn't even know where we were much less wearing a life jacket.:) I remember my mom slamming on the brakes and us all going flying to the front of the van -- yeah, not much safety there.:) And yes, I survived -- but STILL, so glad they are safe!:)Life was easier then wasn't it? LOL
Times have changed! We rode across country with seven kids in our big orange van . Dad had taken the back seats out and made a bed out of ply wood on top of our food storgae buckets and we all laid back there doing who knows what. Talk about safe! We could never do that now...... Ammon told me how they would ride in the back above the seats in their cars ( like the back dashboard) and sleep. Yikes! It was safe- right?!
