Update

Went to the plastic Surgeon today to get the stitches removed.  He was pleased with how it looked and was stitched.  He took them out and felt that it still needed more support while healing. I have steri-strips on now for another week until they fall off.   I asked him why my head was still numb and questioned the antisthetic?   He explained that the direction of my cut was not ideal.... because it was at an angle like it is I cut the nerves in both directions, therefore leaving my forehead and part of the top of my head numb for the rest of my life.  GREAT!!!!! Just what I wanted to hear.  I thought it would still wear off in time, but I did permanent damage to my nerves.    After complaining and feeling sorry for myself, Ammon reminded me again that it could be worse.  At least I have feeling in my face and other important parts of my body.  I will just feel weird and hopefully get use to it.  Miracles happen every day right?  I hope that I can get some feeling back and that the scar will fade.  Until then, I will and do count my lucky stars that I have a head and that I can be with my family regardless of this misfortune.

Trials make us stronger..........

Oh my goodness Allison! I am so sorry to hear about your accident. Of course like others I am so glad to hear you are going to be a-okay. My sister was in an accident that pretty much scalped her and she had stitches clear across her forehead and down into her eyebrow. Of course it took some time, but now you have to look really hard to see anything on her now. She too has some numbness from it but after a while it's nothing you think about anymore. And my little Allie ripped her forehead open a few years ago too, but it has faded dramatically. A few stitches can't do much harm to your pretty face anyway! I send lots of good luck on healing. And just remember sunscreen will be your best friend to help from the sun. I was also pretty faithful with the Mederma on Allie for the first while and I think it made a difference. Wow, sorry- that was a huge novel. Good luck!

Keep on having that positive attitude!!! I can't feel anything on my right foot because the nerve was taken out - don't even notice it!! :)
