Belize

Belize, Mexico

We took an excursion in Belize.  We drove for about an hour to a river cave and zip line area.  

 We went zip-lining through the jungle.  SO FUN!!! 

We floated on tubes through the caves.  We wore helmets with lights on them so that we could see as we passed through the caves.  It was really neat.  

Parts of Belize is three feet above sea level, so they put the  bodies of their loved ones in cement boxes above the ground. The cementaries are covered with these boxes that we normally put underground.

Belize had some definite poor areas.  The houses were small and run down. Many were only partially finished.  They do what they can, when they can to keep the land that is theirs.  As long as they start the building process, they are able to keep the land that was given to them.  Many never finish or it takes many years to build even the smallest home.
