Caribbean Cruise February 2012

Ammon and I went to the Caribbean again with our friends Matt and Jen Thompson and Ryan and Marsha Wilcock. We flew into Fort Lauderdale and drove a short distance to Port Everglades, the largest Cruise Ship port in the world.

We were excited to see the largest Cruise Ship on the Sea, The Oasis of the Seas.  It has a sister ship, the Allure of the Seas.  They are massive.  They can hold a maximum of 6300 passengers and 2500 crew members.  It measures 1186 feet long by 215 feet wide.

Leaving Port Everglades

Fort Lauderdale
Our ship had everything you could think of to do while sailing.  There was rock climbing, ice skating, surfing, musicals, shows, many pools and hot tubs, shopping, miniature golf, basketball, etc.
We never got bored.

This is a picture of the middle of the ship.  It was like a strip mall.  It had shopping and restaurants. Our room overlooked all of this. We were lucky and had an interior window room.  It was fun to see all the things going on from our room.
Here is a kind of spooky picture of me in our window. Our room was right above the shops below but was surprisingly quiet.
The formal dining room was three levels.  It was so big and nice.  We would dress up and dine at the same table each night and have the same waiters.  It was fun getting to know the crew more personally.
This is more pictures of the inside of the ship.

Here is our ship, The Liberty of the Seas.  It holds 4000 passengers and 1500 crew members  It measures 1112 feet long by 185 feet wide. It is the biggest ship that we have been on so far.
We tendered to Belize because the depths of the ocean is too shallow for the Cruise Ships to get very close.
