The summer is slipping away

I feel like this summer has gone especially fast.  I don't feel like I have done anything too exciting or fun except study ( at least it feels like it).  We did manage to head to the County Fair to support our cute cousins, Shay and Wyatt as they showed their sheep. We looked around and played on the tractors for a while too.  We don't do the rides there, I usually bribe my kids with another outing instead of the rides.  I think they aren't that great and it is usually hot and not worth the money.  So, we plan on going to Seven Peaks this week instead.  My last final for the summer is on Wednesday and then I will have about a week before I start back at work and into the Fall semester at USU.

Avery and Ada loved looking at the animals.  They really wish that they could have some at our house, but we haven't figured out how to talk their dad into it, and probably won't.  So, they will just have to admire their cousins animals for now.
Saturday, I took the kids to Hyrum Dam for the day to play.  I have been wanting to go to Bear Lake and just haven't found the right day to go.  This was close and they were able to play in the sand and float in their tubes.  I think I will remember to go their more often next summer.  The kids had a great time and I didn't have to travel over the hill to get there.

Avery and Ada had fun feeding the seagulls.  Avery held a piece of bread in his hand and sat like a statue, hoping that the seagull would come eat from his hand.  The seagulls weren't falling for it and never came to his hand, but they did come close by.

I was glad that Addison came to play.  We went without him because he had to mow lawns. He really wanted to come, so we made sure to stay long enough that he could join us for a couple of hours after he was done.

The edge of the water was rocky because the level is quite low.  There is sand higher up that the kids played in.  Avery looks cold, but the water was actually quite warm.

That looks like a rocky beach instead of sandy one like Bear Lake, but close does count fopr something too. Have you tried that slide off the cliff into Hyrum Dam Revervoir that has been on YouTube? Now that looks like fun.

Love you all and always,

Grandpa Bart

That looks like a great place to go
for a day of swimming. Closer than
going to Bear Lake and easier to
get to. The important thing is that
you had fun together.

Love you all, Mom
